A man, identified as Ogadinma Chukwu, has lost his life while having s*x with a commercial s*x worker at a popular brothel located on St. Michael’s Road, Aba, Abia State. Sources said the deceased, whom they alleged to be a regular visitor to the brothel, died while romping the prostitute. It was gathered that immediately Chukwu slumped and died, the prostitute contacted her colleagues and the manager of the brothel who moved his corpse to a sanitary lane at the back of the brothel. As a result of the development, shop owners around the area quickly closed business for fear of police arrest. A 28 year old Nigerian student, Prince Bartholowmew Obitube, has been sentenced to death by a high court in Malaysia for trafficking drugs. The Shah Alam High Court yesterday Feb 26th gave the death penalty to Obitube after he was found guilty of trafficking cannabis, also known as m*******a. The accused, a student with a private college in Kuala Lumpur, was arrested with 9,189kg of cannabis at Desa Satu Apartment, Gombak on Aug 20, 2011. According to the facts of the case, Obitube was caught by police from the Gombak Narcotic Crime Investigation Department, following a tip off, within the apartment area after he tried to run away with a backpack containing the drugs. The offense, under the Dangerous Drugs Act in the country, provides a mandatory death sentence upon conviction.

Governor Babatunde Fashola, has said he is interested in who succeeds him next year, towards advancing the cause of the state. Terrified students in northeast Nigeria have fled boarding schools after an attack by suspected Boko Haram extremists in which 43 students were shot and hacked to death and the whole school razed. Students refused to stay overnight in their schools and colleges in the wake of the attack on the Federal Government College in Buni Yadi, Yobe state on Tuesday. “Most students of boarding secondary schools have vacated their hostels and moved back to their homes after news of the Buni Yadi attack,” Yunusa Ahmed, who lives in the state capital Damaturu, told AFP. The Minister of Finance and Co-ordinating Minister for the Economy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has explained that the $500M recovered Abacha loot was used to develop the nation’s rural areas. The Minister was reacting to a recent article by one Sonala Olumhense who alleged that $2.5 billion was recovered from the funds looted by the then maximum ruler, Gen. Sani Abacha but that the money disappeared under the Minister’s watch. Explaining how the huge amount was spent, the Minister said $500M, not $2.5 billion was recovered and had been spent on development projects in rural areas as agreed with the Swiss government. Chidoka said this while fielding questions from newsmen at a news conference on Wednesday in Abuja. The corps marshall also said that such motorists will have their vehicles impounded. He also said a criminal charge of “possession of fake identity documents’’ would be added to the offence of such a motorist. “Let me tell motorists that anybody we arrest with a fake driver’s licence, we are sending straight to court. “We are impounding that vehicle because you are not authorised to drive on Nigerian roads. “And we will not only stop with licence violation but will also ask the police to include criminal charges of possession of fake identity document,’’ he said. A 400-level student of Taraba State University was reported to have committed suicide in Janligo. The victim, Friday Samson was said to have taken his own life by ingesting poison after a family disagreement. The incident was confirmed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Joseph Kwaji, saying the police are investigating the matter. Premium Times reports: He said Samson, a student of Mathematics, allegedly died after taking a substance. Kwaji said a suicide note was found in the pocket of the deceased in which he alleged that his sister had refused to pay his school registration fees. According to the note, the PPRO said, Samson, 32, took the poison to express his grievances over the alleged refusal to pay the school fees.

A young woman in India has been forced to exist on a diet of only milk after her mother discovered that she couldn’t stomach solid food. 25-year-old Manju Dharra has only been taking liquids since she was born due to a condition called  achalasia which makes her vomit if she eats solid food. Manju’s mother discovered her daughter’s condition when she tried to feed her bread and rice at age 2. Daily Mail reports: Her mother, Bhagwati Dharra, said: ‘She takes only fluids like milk, tea, water and sometimes juice. ‘Mostly she takes milk, tea, buttermilk, water. If she eats solid food, she faces the problem of vomiting suddenly.’ Manju added: ‘If I eat something then I throw up and I feel very, very bad. Michael Adebolajo has been given a whole-life term and Michael Adebowale has been jailed for a minimum of 45 years for murdering Fusilier Lee Rigby. Adebolajo, 29, and Adebowale, 22, drove into Fusilier Rigby with a car before hacking him to death in Woolwich, south-east London, in May last year. The judge, Mr Justice Sweeney, said Adebolajo’s was one of those “rare cases” warranting a whole-life term. The pair were absent during sentencing after a fracas in the dock. As Mr Justice Sweeney began to sentence the men they started shouting and scuffling with court security guards. They had to be forced to the ground and were removed from court. Fusilier Rigby’s family sobbed as Adebolajo shouted “Allahu Akbar”, and Adebowale called out “that’s a lie” as the judge told them their extremist views were “a betrayal of Islam”. A police officer has been arrested in Lagos for reportedly assaulting his wife with a deadly weapon. Michael Okoli was apprehended by fellow officers attached to the Okokomaiko Division for  attacking his wife, Felicia, with a cutlass. Men suspected to be members of the Islamic Sect, Boko Haram, today Tuesday Feb 25th launched an attack on students of the Federal Government College Buni-Yadi Yobe state, killing 29 students (or more), Hausa Service BBC reports. Some buildings in the school were also reportedly razed. Sources at the school said the men invaded the school in the early hours of this morning while the students were still sleeping in their hostels and slaughtered them. Guns were not used in the attack as was the sect’s usual practice, probably to avoid the attention of people. They used machetes. The Federal Government College Buni Yadi is a co-educational institution located some 55km south of Damaturu the Yobe State capital. This is the fourth attack on secondary schools since the inception of the sect members.

A necrophiliac who dug into a teenager’s grave was arrested after falling asleep inside the coffin. Villagers spotted Chin Chean’s foot sticking out of a coffin belonging to a 17-year-old girl. They soon told her horrified family about the 47-year-old necrophiliac . Chin Chaen told Cambodian police that he started digging at around 10am the morning after attending the teenager’s funeral. He managed to get inside the coffin but could not have s*x as it was too small. Cambodia Daily reported that he then fell asleep on top of the body. It was pandemonium on Saturday when two brothers from the same parents were admitted at the General Hospital, Ikorodu after fighting each other over a bowl of garri. The incident happened on Abiola Street, Ibeshe titun, Ikorodu, Lagos State. According to eye-witnesses, the two brothers, Tosin and Yakubu, who are in their late twenties, were drinking garri in the same bowl when the elder brother (Tosin), discovered that Yakubu was too fast for him and he hit the younger sibling with a hard object on the head which made the victim to start bleeding. A police officer and two colleagues have found themselves on the wrong side of the law after being convicted of murder. The three officers were found guilty of causing the death of two people due to a tussle over a bribe of N100. One of them, Sergeant Clement Indyel, was sentenced to death, while the other two received life sentences. The sentence was pronounced by a high court sitting in Rivers yesterday. The Sun reports: Delivering the judgement yesterday, the trial judge, Justice Biobele Georgewill, said the convicts conspired to murder the victims, Chinyeaka Kamalu and Ugochukwu Harcourt, on January 17, 2010, in the state capital. The remains of Nollywood actress, Ijeoma Okori, who died during childbirth in early February 2014, was finally laid to rest on Saturday, February 22, 2014 in her hometown in Imo State. Ijeoma Okori It was gathered that many could not hold back tears as the late 27-year-old woman laid to rest. EBONYI State Police Command, weekend, arrested a middle aged woman, Uzoamaka  Dorathy Nworie, an indigene of Nzashi Echara in Ikwo Local Government Area of the state, for allegedly killing her lover, Mr. Duniya Philemon Tabat, over unresolved business transaction involving the purchase of Sienna bus. Briefing newsmen at the command’s headquarters in Abakaliki, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Chris Anyanwu, disclosed that the deceased, who hailed from Dutsen Makaranta in Nasarawa State, was discovered in a refuse dump in December 25, 2013,  in Onuebonyi junction, the outskirts of Abakaliki metropolis. He said the command swung into action after the traditional ruler and his cabinet members reported the case of  an abandoned corpse to the police. The corpse  was later deposited at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, FETHA. An employee of Ecobank in Lagos, Mr Babatunde Oke, has died in the custody of Falomo Police Divisional Headquarters, Lagos, after he was detained for three days over his alleged involvement in a N1.2m fraud. Inflation was at 15.6percent three months before I became Central Bank Governor; there was already instability in every sector of the economy. When I look back, I thank God for the people who supported us and criticized us as well because criticism has made us stronger. Also, when I look back, I can point to several things that have changed after our arrival and till date. Keeping inflation down For the first time in a long while, we have been able to keep inflation at about 7percent since January 2013 and it is still like that up till this moment.
