A car bomb planted in a Volkswagen Golf car exploded at a crowded bus station in Nyanya, a suburb of Nigeria’s capital Abuja today. The early morning bombing killed at least 71 people with over 500 people injured. Some passers-by also sustained different degrees of injuries. Earlier before the bomb blast, the bubbly Nyanya Motor Park, was crowded with workers and people waiting to board vehicles to their different places of work and offices in Abuja. Soldiers and bomb disposal experts have cordoned off the area over suspicion of an undetonated bomb, while people were warned not to move near the explosion scene. The spokesman of the National Emergency Management Agency, Manzo Ezekiel, speaking on the bomb blast said: “This morning there was an explosion at the Nyanya Motor Park. “Rescue teams are already on ground. “There were so many people there at that time, so we think there must have been some injuries.” DOWNLOAD HERE

Following an extended period of negotiations, the Portuguese midfielder is poised to finalize his long-awaited move to Old Trafford. Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Bruno Fernandes from Sporting CP, the Premier League club announced on Wednesday. Fernandes will join United following an extended period of negotiations and is due to become the club’s first, and perhaps only, January signing. The midfielder will head to Old Trafford as part of a deal worth an initial €55 million (£47m/$60m). MANCHESTER UNITED WILL PAY MORE United could pay up to €80m (£68m/$88m) for the Portuguese star due to a number of additional clauses that have been agreed to by the two parties. Man U promised Bruno €5m based on United’s Champions League participation and another €15m related to individual awards. FOOTBALL: Inter-Milan Set To Sign John Obi Mike For £10m

Eighteen-time Italian champions Internazionale are ready to stump £10m (about N2.7 billion) for Nigeria international midfielder, John Obi Mikel. The British media reported last week that Internazionale president, Erick Thohir flew to London to watch Chelsea’s Uefa Champions League quarterfinal match against PSG at Stamford Bridge to monitor Mikel and a host of other Blues players. It has also been reported that another Chelsea player Thohir is considering making a swoop for is Fernando Torres. Other Premier League stars like Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko and Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna are also said to be on the Inter wish list.
