Another Sad One: As Mile 2 Road Now Turns A Den Of Robbers

The ongoing road construction on Apapa Expressway is causing high traffic on the road and armed robbers are taking advantage of the situation to rob road users, this is according to people who ply that route.
This morning two MTN female staff working at the office in Apapa were robbed. One of the victims who was also robbed last week was stabbed in the eye with a knife after the robbers broke their car window. An eye  witnesse of the incident sent in the photos…

People who work and live in the Apapa area of Lagos are asking the police to help them.

The Senate in Abuja on Thursday passed a bill that will legally protect persons with disability from discrimination. Sponsored by Sen. Nurudeen Abatemi-Usman (PDP-Kogi), the bill seeks to integrate such persons into the society and establish a commission for persons with disability. The bill, titled ‘Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Bill, 2014′, prescribes a fine of N1m for corporate bodies and N100,000 or six months imprisonment or both for an individual who contravenes the law. Sen. Adamu Gumba (PDP-Bauchi) presented the report of the Senate Joint Committee on Sports, Social Development and Women Affairs on the bill. Child-bride, Wasila Umar, accused of killing her husband and three of his friends while injuring many others after she served them poisoned food, in Kano, says she regrets her action. “Mine was a classical example of youthful exuberance; it dawned on me shortly after that it was a joke taken too far to resolve a forced marriage question”, Wasila, 14, said. The killings happened only 17 days after their marriage. [A Must Watch] Shocking Video Of the Bomb Blast That Happened In Abuja Early Yesterday

A car bomb planted in a Volkswagen Golf car exploded at a crowded bus station in Nyanya, a suburb of Nigeria’s capital Abuja today. The early morning bombing killed at least 71 people with over 500 people injured. Some passers-by also sustained different degrees of injuries. Earlier before the bomb blast, the bubbly Nyanya Motor Park, was crowded with workers and people waiting to board vehicles to their different places of work and offices in Abuja. Soldiers and bomb disposal experts have cordoned off the area over suspicion of an undetonated bomb, while people were warned not to move near the explosion scene. The spokesman of the National Emergency Management Agency, Manzo Ezekiel, speaking on the bomb blast said: “This morning there was an explosion at the Nyanya Motor Park. “Rescue teams are already on ground. “There were so many people there at that time, so we think there must have been some injuries.” DOWNLOAD HERE
