A pregnant woman fleeing from at­tacks by Boko Ha­ram at Kala-Balge community in Borno State has delivered a baby girl in the bush, a native of the area has disclosed. According to Abba Ab­dulmuminu, in a press con­ference with journalists at the Correspondents Chapel in Bauchi, the woman was among thousands of natives of the local government area, who had fled the constant re­prisal attacks on the people of Kala-Balge by members of the deadly sect. Three suspected kidnappers were early this morning burnt to death by a mob along Ijoko Road, Sango, Ogun State, southwest Nigeria. The suspected kidnappers were accused of abducting a young woman who was shouting to be freed inside their vehicle. A witness, Mr. Ade Sunday, who was at the scene of the incident explained that the suspects struggled to keep their victim inside the car but she fought vigorously for her life and was pushed out of the vehicle at Gas Line Bus Stop, Ijoko, Ogun State. A pregnant road sweeper working with the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has been crushed to death. The deceased identified as Mrs. Kikelomo Bamidele was crushed at Ojota, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, by a petrol tanker with registration number Kano NSR 592 YQ while working inside the BRT lane near the pedestrian bridge. Mothers and other aggrieved indigenes of Chibok, Borno, yesterday staged a protest at the National Assembly calling on the government to speed up the release of their daughters that were kidnapped from the Government Girls Secondary school on April 14th. The women under the aegies of Kibaku Development Association and led by senior female police officers converged at the Eagle Square Abuja, all dressed in black, from where they marched peacefully to the National Assembly, wailing and pleading for help from the govt. Donald Sterling, the L.A Clippers owner who was caught on tape making disgusting racist comments to his girlfriend has been banned for life from the NBA and fined $2.5 million, which is the max fine that can be imposed under NBA rules. An helicopter that mistakenly landed at Governor’s Lodge of Enugu Government House at about 11am yesterday was detained for alleged security breach. Pilot of the helicopter and other members of his crew whose number could not be immediately ascertained, are also being detained inside Government House. A 30-year old house wife, Mrs Chizoba Ejike, has been charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State, western Nigeria for allegedly biting off her neighbor’s ear and swallowing it in anger. The victim, Mrs. Ndid Eze, was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, but the chopped off portion of her ear could not be recovered as it had been allegedly swallowed by the suspect. According to their neighbours, the suspect committed the offence while fighting the victim at their residence at 20, Brinfalami Street, Ejigbo, Lagos State. A new born baby abandoned by her mother was recently discovered in a swampy dump-site around Great Aduke School, Victory Estate in Iba area of Lagos. However, the baby finally died after being rejected by two public hospitals. Nigerian film-maker and Nollywood icon, producer Fuji house of commotion, Amaka Igwe has shockingly passed on at 51. The sad incident occurred yesterday in Enugu where she had gone, in company of her husband, for pre-production preparations for a new Igbo soap. She suffered an asthma attack and was immediately rushed to the hospital after initial interventions had failed. She passed on before getting to the hospital. Mrs Igwe is survived by her husband of 21 years Charles Igwe, three children, an aged mother, siblings and a large extended family.
